The Jaguar XF has an all-new, aluminium-intensive chassis, new engines and enough computer firepower to outwit and Airbus A380. Its cab-back design and tight front and rear overhangs are visual highlights, altough it does look suspiciously similar to the smaller, cheaper XE.
Moving to the interior, you can choose between an 8 or 10.2in central touchscreen, called InControl, which has the swipe and pinch functionality of a smartphone and integrates audi, sat nav and huge array of bespoke Jaguar apps.
There’s also a lot more space in the rear of the XF, and decent boot capacity – from 540 litres with the seats up puts it among the more commodious in this sector, whish is unusual for a Jaguar.
Interior space is one of the XF’s strongest assets, and in the front, two tall adults will feel anything but hemmed in. The boot aperture is small, making it tricky to load broad items.
As a conclusion, the Jaguar XF is great to drive, with excellent handling and a comfortable ride. It isn’t the quietest executive saloon, though.
