The Toyota Auris Touring Sport

The small family estate market can be a tough one to crack, and that’s because the offerings from the likes of Ford, VW and Seat make the competition so fierce. We will be taking a look at the new Toyota Auris to see how it measures up.
As always in life, first impressions count and it fares ok in the looks department , the facelift consists of extra chrome strips, new headlamps to give it a slightly more dynamic appeal, and new rear lights. It looks functional, while it has more looks than a Vw Golf , the Seat Leon ST is definitely more head turning.
Toyota has carried on that low nonsense approach in the interior as well, whilst it feels pretty durable on the interior, the quality and look of plastics is a little bit disappointing compared to the Golf. Switches just seem to be scattered about the place, it has different shaped air vents, it doesn’t have a really cohesive look , it feels like things have been taken from different cars and all plunked together. But what is lacks in style, it makes up in storage place, with a large glove box, decent sized cup holders, and good sized storage bins.
In the back, head and leg room is really good, you have a couple of Isofix child seat points , it has buzzers on the rear seat belts so the parents will know when have the little ones taken off their seat belts.
The trunk of the car is absolutely enormous, it is nice and wide, flat with a low load lip, with storage bins on both sides, when rear seats are folded down, it has he second largest storage area in its class right after the Honda Civic Tourer.
