The Rav 4 began its life in the ‘90s , with its looks and fun character it was the off roader of choice.
The 4th generation car has small changes compared to its predecessor, it has new modern looking lights , new rims and and a smart front end. The change in the interior is small too, there are new storage compartments, a new screen between the two dials on the dashboard.
The days of the tiny 1st generation Rav4 are long gone, the new 4th generation has more than comfortable knee and head room, you can easily fit 3 people in the back, the back seats are retractable for extra comfort.
The boot area has been well thought out, with split-folding rear seats that lie completely flat when lowered, leaving a smooth boot floor to slide flat-pack furniture or even bicycles into without getting snagged.
The RAV4 has become more sensible and practical over the years, but in doing so has lost its edge to rivals such as the Ford Kuga and Mazda CX-5, which are more fun to drive. Other competitors include the Volkswagen Tiguan (which is more upmarket, but feeling its age) and the Mitsubishi Outlander (which isn’t as good to drive as the Ford or Mazda, but still a great SUV).
